We are a small innovative start-up developing cutting-edge software for creating stunning 3D visualizations. Our projects currently focus on woodland/forest creation, biodiversity, agriculture, energy infrastructure, electric vehicle infrastructure and urban environments with rapid expansion into new sectors. We have ongoing projects that aim to leverage the latest machine learning and process automation techniques to improve both the quality, efficiency and scalability of our visualization approach.
Location: Exeter, UK [Fully or Partially Remote Possible]
Type: Full-time [Part time roles will be considered]
Develop and maintain software solutions for 3D visualizations related to environmental projects. As part of a small team you will play a key role in all parts of the software development process.
Collaborate with external clients on specific visualization projects. This will include understanding clients' needs and using a range of software, both in-house and third party, to produce 3-D photorealistic concept models, videos and images as well as additional content to aid with communication of these concepts.
Play a key role in helping the company to scale up, increasing the speed at which we can produce visualizations by developing new software features and modelling processes.
Due to the small size of the team currently, this role would not initially involve managing any other developers. However as the company grows there is scope for the role to expand to include management responsibilities.
Stay updated with industry trends and technologies to continuously improve our products.
Programming Experience: Proven experience in programming, ideally within the games or 3D visualization industry.
Unreal Engine: Familiarity with Unreal Engine is a significant advantage, though experience with similar engines such as Unity is also advantageous.
AI / Machine Learning: Experience with using machine learning for applications such as image recognition or procedural generation would be particularly welcome.
Python & Scientific Computing: Knowledge of Python and experience with scientific computing are desirable but not essential. Part of our business is numerical modelling studies, and the ideal candidate would be able to contribute to these.
GIS and Earth Observation Data Handling: Experience handling GIS and/or Earth Observation datasets is advantageous and welcome
Environmentally Motivated: Our mission is to use technology to address environmental challenges, and we are looking for people who share our passion for this.
Adaptable and Proactive: The ideal candidate will be adaptable, proactive and have a continuous growth mindset. In a small start-up technology environment there are likely to be rapid changes in order to adapt to new opportunities as well as tasks which lie outside your usual comfort zone.
Education: A degree is not required; practical experience, skills and the ability to rapidly acquire new skills are valued more. However, mathematical literacy is essential.
